About the project
The digital wallet is a core feature of Lotterywest's digital experience. Due to government compliance requirements, users cannot purchase tickets directly with cards — instead, they deposit funds into the digital wallet to buy tickets, withdraw winnings, and track their transaction history. Through research and analysis, we identified several key usability issues with the existing wallet: a confusing balance screen that misled users, missing steps in the deposit flow, a lack of critical information at key decision points, visual inconsistency across screens, and inconsistent language throughout the experience.
Project goal
The goal of this project was to make the wallet experience instantly understandable, build user trust in money movements, and help people feel in control of their finances — all while simplifying navigation to reduce friction and cognitive load.
Solution
Designed a comprehensive digital wallet experience encompassing a central dashboard with at-a-glance balance overview, quick-action shortcuts, recent transactions, and a spending snapshot.
Key features include a guided multi-step flow for Deposits & Withdrawals — progressing through method selection, amount entry, and a review & confirmation screen — as well as an enhanced transaction history with date-range filtering, color-coded categories, and a running balance view.
A detailed spending analytics chart visualises in-store, online, and total expenditure trends. To support responsible usage and regulatory compliance, the platform also integrates configurable spend limits and a dedicated support section for users seeking help with gambling-related concerns.
Additionally, a FAQ section provides users with guided support for common fund transaction queries.
